Description
Huddle is looking for a talented, motivated and responsible developer to join its engineering team. This role is based at our office directly outside Aldgate East station.
About the Role
The Huddle engineering team are multi-talented individuals. We blend technical knowledge and collaborative processes to ensure the best software solutions.

As a developer you’d be expected to:
- Design and develop high quality solutions in line with our department standards and strategy.
- Pair with other developers and mentor junior developers.
- Work with UX, QA, Architects and Product Owners using Agile methodologies
- Co-ordinate with Architecture and Infrastructure teams to ensure internal systems and applications are designed in such a way that they can delivered efficiently and operate confidently in production.
- Proactively monitor the performance, throughput and error logs, following a DevOps culture.
- Conduct spikes to research and validate technical approaches.
- Proactively communicate, share and influence other teams with advances in technical capabilities.
- Our primary stack is C# and SQL Server, but we also work with Python, Redis, AWS, Elastic Search, Docker, Kibana, Log Stash and Octopus Deploy.
About the Team
We work in a multi-skilled team at the heart of Huddle’s engineering process, working side-by-side with Architects, Product Management, Systems Engineers, QA Engineers and UX Designers to ensure a consistently top class product is delivered to our customers, in a way that is scalable within our business. We are at our best when the whole team is collaborating to deliver the best software we can.
At Huddle we have a jukebox playing in the background, gather around colourful stand up boards and demo our changes in our stylish auditorium.

Requirements

Core Skills
- Commercial experience developing applications in C#.
- Building HTTP+JSON APIs.
- Developing with SQL Server, and ORMS.
- TDD and/or Unit Testing.
Desirable
- Python development experience.
- Cloud platform (such as AWS/Azure) experience.
- Microservices/SOA.
- RESTful API design.
- Domain Driven design.
- Deployment tools & techniques.
- Experience developing distributed systems, using queue based messaging.
- Experience developing high scale, transactional systems.
